Mr. Basketball: Taylor Philpot, Community
Final
2 North Hardin over 1 Community 64-55
Semifinals
2 North Hardin over 5 Bethel 80-66
1 Community over 4 Trinity 67-57
Quarterfinals
5 Bethel (17-5) over 9 Blue Grass (9-12) 73-55
2 North Hardin (20-1) over 3 Academy (20-4) 74-56
4 Trinity (18-8) over 13 MICAH (6-20) 76-39
1 Community (22-2) over 6 Heritage (11-6) 74-34
Analysis: North Hardin and Community are the class of the field in this year's tournament with North Hardin holding the #1 computer rating for the regular season and Community holding #1 for all KCAA games. North Hardin got a really tough draw with #3 Academy in the first round, but if they can get past the Cougars, they should easily make the final. Community is in a rematch of the OT game in last year's first round against Heritage. This year they should have an easier time in the first round and then face Trinity who gave them one of their two losses. The likely final between North Hardin and Community should be a good one.

Final
2 Lakeside over 7 Trinity 45-40
Semifinals
7 Trinity over 5 Bethel 60-46
2 Lakeside over 4 Academy 43-38
Quarterfinals
7 Trinity (6-11) over 9 North Hardin (2-10) 49-40
5 Bethel (8-6) over 8 Cornerstone (5-9) 33-26
4 Academy (14-3) over 1 Heritage (8-4) 37-32
2 Lakeside (13-3) over 3 MICAH (11-6) 53-43
Analysis: With a couple of upsets in the regionals the seeding for this year's tournament looks very strange with the top 4 teams on one side of the bracket. Trinity and Bethel received very good draws this year and one of them is likely to be in the final. On the other side it is really a toss-up with 4 really good teams. The one that comes out of that side will be a heavy favorite in the final. |

2 Blue Grass (7-2) over 6 Heritage (4-4)
Analysis: Lakeside is the class of the tournament, winning by an average of 22.7 points per game. Their side of the bracket is weak with 3 teams with losing records, so Lakeside should have no trouble making the championship game. The other side of the bracket should be very competive with teams 2, 3, 4, and 6. However, whoever comes out of this side will have a very tough time with Lakeside.

3 Heritage (9-1) over 10 Somerset (7-9) 36-29
2 Community (12-1) over 8 MICAH (6-8) 47-26
Analysis: This tournament is balanced pretty well with 1, 4, and 5 on the opposite side of 2 and 3. North Hardin did get a bad draw as champion of Region 2 they have to play the #1 team Cornerstone who just came up short in the tie breaker with Community for the Region 3 Title. Heritage and Community should meet in the semifinal while the other side of the bracket should be very competive. This should be a fun tournament to watch.
